When I was at Kamiakin, there were a few teachers who worked hard to connect with their students and really push the motto to "Be the Best You Can Be". They were incredible teachers and I learned a lot from their classes that I'll use outside the classroom. Unfortunately, there were only a handful of those good quality teachers and andministrators, and the rest are average to poor quality. I felt the school spirit was seriously lacking, especially in support to any clubs other than sports. My class worked hard to raise the level of support at the school for other clubs such as music, drama, photography, computer science, etc. While the support was able to raise somewhat, it remains a socially skewed school and offers more opportunities for kids who do sports than those who excel in other areas, such as academics. I am grateful for the few role models that made the experience agreeable.

Kamiakin High School has been very good about allowing students to study what interests them while still making sure they get their core classes taken care of. For example, I took many of my most challenging academic classes my freshman and sophomore years, so that for the second half of high school I could take more music classes which is where my true passion lies. Our sports teams frequently make playoffs and despite the school being in desperate need of renovation many of our sports teams have good enough coaching to make it to State. Our football, boys Cross Country, and girls Track and Field teams have all won state, and many other teams here have come close. Most of the staff genuinely cares about teaching students, and with a few exceptions, have all been extremely good teachers for me to learn from. Overall there is no other school I would rather go to high school at and I am grateful for my experience here at Kamiakin.
Kamiakin High School has been a fantastic place for my education and much more! In the sense of education, it is remarkable; say a student is just confused on the topic his or her teacher would, when time is appropriate, help out as much as they could! Like when I would be stuck on a math problem, my teacher Mr. Schlekewey would help me out by walking me through the steps until I understood. Though I do wish that Kamiakin was more flexible with class sizes and what is determined a class. Despite that occurance, Kamiakin High school has been a great experience and would not wish to go any where else.
