Kamiak high school prepares you fairly well for college and has some amazing teachers that will do anything to help you along the way. The political side of Kamiak needs to change, especially in the field of varsity sports because many students do not stand a chance against some of the coaches. The counselors are pretty good at making you feel safe and like you belong, but they sometimes make you figure things out on your own with no real help. Overall, Kamiak is one of the better high schools in the district but it needs a little bit more school spirit!
What I mostly enjoy at Kamiak High School is the unity and kindness spread all over the school. The students, faculty, and teachers at Kamiak High School are very welcoming, caring, and helpful!
Kamiak is a great school academically. Dedicated teachers, helpful staff and counselors, great resources. While the school does lack in certain sports (football :/), it is great in others (tennis).
The school is challenging and academically rigorous, great for intellectual growth.
The diversity in the school could use some help. There is a very big distinction between white and POC students at the school especially in AP classes as seen by the lack of diversity in such classes.
Clubs are okay, not the most effective in achieving their goals - no one really takes a club very seriously if they are not a part of it. Also, school spirit is non-existent outside of ASB.
I highly recommend the physics and math teachers - Mr. Beckner and Mr. Binz, hands down the funniest and smartest teachers you will ever have.
