It’s really based on the student’s choice to change the culture at school. Many people complain about the lack of school unity while they have very little school spirit themselves. On the other hand, there are plenty of dedicated, hard-working, and amazing people at Kamiak. We have some excellant sports teams like swimming, wrestling, golf, cross county, and track and field. We are also a very academic school so many of our students qualify for National Merit and our Debate, DECA, and Knowledge Bowl teams are very successful. Like all schools, Kamiak has good and bad teachers. I mainly admire how many of our teachers really care about the well-being of students and are easy to connect with. That is what makes Kamiak stand out because teachers can have great influence on students’ lives.

I loved it! In the past people have said it is very "rich-white kids" and druggy but that is dying away. People try to be friendly and inclusive and keep the spirit up even when the football team always looses haha. A lot of competition in AP classes though. Manyy smart Asians.
The drama department is amazing with it's productions and most all sport teams tend to do well. There is a lot of club choices and volunteer opportunities
I had a hard time at kamiak because all the kids were very much a clique type of group- if you weren't cool enough or have enough followers, you were largely ignored or classified as weird. Staff are largely opposed to Running Start students, but they are beginning to accommodate now that a large majority of seniors are now leaving Kamiak because of the "cool kid" culture/standard to do Running start (dual enrollment). AP classes are overrated and nothing like actual college classes. and the AP tests are a complete scam that the classes are based around. This is coming from someone who was very involved with Kamiak/ was a varsity Letterman in more than one sport and was part of the orchestra at one point. KAMIAK IS LARGELY A PERFORMING ARTS SCHOOL. The arts here are phenomenal, but the sports are a JOKE. The sports culture here is terrible if it isn't football, which is just a gentleman's club that limits the growth of athletes that actually have potential because of the coaches.
