I am currently enrolled in Kalamazoo Central and overall, it's a great school. Kalamazoo Central is in the Kalamazoo Public school district so you have a chance to get the Kalamazoo Promise! Compared to middle school, students wise, I recieved close to no bullying. The teachers are decent, some may not be teaching as well as others. I have had experiences where I was given worksheets and books and told to go learn myself. The students that attend are usually not that bad, sometimes bad things go on in the school, but all in all, it's a great school!

KC had amazing teachers that pushed my peers and me to realize our potential and always strive for my best. Instead of just pushing for a college path, they also emphasized different paths students could take after high school such as the trades. Although the cafeteria food sucked, I enjoyed how they allowed us to go to teacher's room during lunch and hang out with our favorite teachers. The school has always been looked down on by other school districts near by, but the teachers were some of the most enthuastic and loving I have ever seen.
My name is Kareem Thorpe and I’m a graduating senior at Kalamazoo Central High School. I just want to thank Kalamazoo Central for being influential on my life. Whether the situation was good or bad, I learned how to grow as a man and as a leader. I specifically want to thank Ms. Bowden for always encouraging me to be great and making sure I never slacked in development. She has been my role model and my ear when I always wanted to talk. I also want to thank Mr. Gardner for letting me talk out my issues with him when I didn’t feel like I could be strong as a man. He always encouraged me by helping me spiritually and emotionally and I appreciate him for that. Last but not least, I want to thank Mrs. Boggan for being a very influential figure on my life. She has been a motivator for me and she always pushed me to think outside the box. I’m thankful for the love that she gives me and her students and we don’t take it for granted.
