I am currently enrolled in Kalamazoo Central and overall, it's a great school. Kalamazoo Central is in the Kalamazoo Public school district so you have a chance to get the Kalamazoo Promise! Compared to middle school, students wise, I recieved close to no bullying. The teachers are decent, some may not be teaching as well as others. I have had experiences where I was given worksheets and books and told to go learn myself. The students that attend are usually not that bad, sometimes bad things go on in the school, but all in all, it's a great school!

What I liked about Kalamazoo Central was the diversity you saw around the school and in the classrooms. Unfortunately, many of the advanced classes, as in most schools, consisted mostly of Caucasian students. Also, the counseling system has many inconsistencies that need to be addressed if the school is going to seek to further improve itself and the success of the students. However, the principal is very involved in the students' lives and activities, as well as staff.
Through Kalamazoo Central High School, I have become a better student and person within the community. Through my classes, I gained the confidence I was once missing. Allowing myself to speak up has helped me as a person and I owe it to my teachers. This confidence boost pushed me to get involved in some of the many clubs the school offers. I joined Family, Community, Career Leaders of America(FCCLA), NHS and the autonomous car design team. Through these clubs, I formed everlasting friendships and life skills. Though the school has many things to offer, there are things I would like to see change. There is a lot of fighting in the hallways and many disrespectful students. Trash and vulgar language line the hallways. If security did a better job of preventing fights and keeping the hallways flowing, Kalamazoo Central would flourish. Overall, Kalamazoo Central is a great school, I would recommend that students attend if possible.
