very typical school for eastern NC. Leaders do the best they can with the funds given - probably not as academically strong as schools from northern states.
The Principal is very attentive and will take time to speak with you, and help with issues that can't be otherwise resolved. The guidance counselors will always assist when asked. The Registrar is top notch - comes in on weekends to take care of paperwork for seniors! Staff are hard working and most likely not outwardly appreciated enough by the majority of students and parents.

I am still currently enrolled at Junius H. Rose High School. I love how commited everyone at rose is. Our teachers help us out a lot and prove to us that they want us to actually succeed in life to the fullest. The only thing I do not like about Junius H. Rose High School is the uniform policy. Honestly, the uniform policy is ridiculous and they should of have gotten rid of it a long time ago. At Junius H. Rose, if you are hard-working, dedicated and determined you will succeed in getting into a great college. Junius H. Rose High School is not only diverse but it is also a very competitive school.
I enjoyed the ROTC program/ class. I had multiple opportunities to participate in community service work with the class and school. I attended 4 clubs and each of those were based off of my personal interests and I enjoyed those opportunities as well.
The only thing I would change is freshman year opportunities. I think that there should be seminars that freshman can attend to learn about scholarships and life after high school. So that they can learn early and have a head start in beginning to apply and do well during their high school career.
