Junipero Serra High School is a great school for students who are able to have the opportunity to go to a private school. I transferred to Serra my sophomore year and it's been a blast. The environment there is welcoming and makes every student feel wanted. Nobody there is excluded and it's truly a family at Serra High School. Although the school does lack some clubs and activities for students to join, this past year the number has increased and now there are more clubs for students to be a part of. Overall, I would definitely recommend enrolling your child here because it's a great environment and helps students get ahead of the game and more prepared for college.

I love how close everyone is at Serra High School. We are almost like a little family. We make sure that everyone is on the right track and is doing well. Although sometimes we have our moments, what high school doesn't. We get our business done. We take the job of being a student very serious. We may take our work seriously, but we also know how to have a lot of fun. Everyone knows everyone at Serra, so everyone is always laughing and joking with someone during lunch.
Serra high school is a pretty good school but, does fall behind many other schools. The upside is that it is the best school around the area given that any other school near are far worse. Some teachers are not qualified to teach some of the classes, the music teacher of 2017 taught very little about music theory. The teachers of Math, English, Science, History, Physical Education and religion on the other hand were very good in those fields. Any other subjects the teachers are terrible. The sports are pretty good, or should I say sport because football, and girls basketball is the only thing they are good at. Serra is decent in track and baseball, above average at boys basketball, terrible in every other sport (soccer, softball, volleyball). Music program is very bad, knowledge is very limited, you are better off being self taught, or private lessons. Serra has lots of activities to do. Overall Serra is a decent school, but many are better. Best school in the area.
