Junipero Serra Elementary Reviews

JSerra should absolutely be on every SF parents' radar. As a family who was leaning towards private schools, I'm glad we chose JSerra. It was our #1 choice.

Great neighborhood school with an ever increasing group of involved families from diverse backgrounds. Our family feels fortunate to be attending such a "small school with a BIG heart" within walking distance from our home and public transportation. JSerra has structure yet it's small & nimble enough to accommodate its student community when needs arise.

At this stage in my child's academic career, I'm thrilled that he comes home happy with his day, classmates, teacher & school. I already see his academic confidence & independence building day-by-day. What more could parents want for their ELEMENTARY school child?

And... The school's almost done with its total structural renovation. NEW landscaping slated within the next year.

I cannot tell you what JSerra is like now, however; I can tell you, I have the most fond memories of this little school. I attended K in 1970. I did not speak English, except for “My name is...” My Dad tells me, if it took me s month to learn English, he feels that’s too long. He tells me is was completely fluent within a month.
Well enough, that I passed the test to attend a private Catholic School.
I have vivid memories of writing “dog” knowing what it was in both English and Spanish. That’s when I knew, I got this! I have the best memories from this little school, and want to tell you, THANK YOU!! Thank you for giving me such a great first scholastic experience! This little school is part of my identity.
We love this little school. Every student is expected and encouraged to achieve. The children and parents are all very excepting of each other regardless of background, culture, ethnicity or education level. The principal is truly wonderful. She does an amazing job with a limited budget by securing grants and encouraging volunteers to assist with many enrichment and educational efforts.
