Overall its a great school to attend to build leadership skills and to challenge yourself academically. It is a magnet school that purely focuses on academics and extracurriculars/clubs, so there aren't any JV/Varsity teams in any sport. The most notable extracurriculars are the mock trial team, the debate team, the moot court team, and SkillsUSA. There are other smaller clubs within the school students can also join. Since there are no sports, the school heavily emphasizes academic achievement. Students are expected to perform well in their classes and all students are expected to take the SAT at least once and graduate on time. AP classes are also an expectation for all students, as there aren't really other options other than Pre-AP/Honors classes.
The school is a decent, with friendly students and earnest teachers. However, it lack some core AP classes otherwise you will find in another school. For example, you can't take AP Statistic in your Junior year and there is no AP Physics. In addition, if you are majoring or wants to learn more about studies other than law, the school do not offer many options. (such as no business management, engineer, or doctor's career path) The school does not offer great elective class, as it only limited to several art class and culture classes such as Mexican history. In class, the teachers will make you write notes and organize binder, as that is a part of your grade. Moreover, the teachers teach lessons really fast, make sure you know each and every topics. The school offer lots of different clubs, such as in math, debate, chess, mock trial, and etc. Overall, my experience with the school is alright, I transferred to the school in Junior year, there is nothing too prominent I like it here.
Though I was disappointed about missing out on my first choice of high school, I quickly realized that the Law Magnet was a far better option for me. Students at the Law Magnet are taught how to be better students, citizens, and leaders of their community. I am grateful that our school administration has put together such a top-notch group of teachers. Nearly all of the ones employed by Law are adored by their students. At the Law Magnet, the best-of-the-best students meet the best-of-the-best staff.
