Wilson magnet changed my life. And I’m not just saying that cause I want to get the scholarship. I moved here in 10th grade. I was terrified, I had went to a small country school my whole life and was scared to move to a big city school. It just wasn’t what I grew up in and I wasn’t sure how I would fit in. But I immediately fit in right from the start. I joined their music and art classes, and I started partaking in many activities my school provided and made a strong group of friends. This school is like my family the teachers here and the students are amazing.
Wilson Magnet High School excelled academically and supplies Mini forms of amazing support for students as well as parents. The score is diverse and constantly Works towards bettering the school environment as a whole. There are many programs for students to find things like tutoring guidance academic and emotional support. These programs include but are not limited to Upper bound, Hillside and other Trio programs. There are a lot of sports teams to join such as tennis, track, football, basketball and Lacrosse. There are also clubs like the outdoor club, the big Club, and book club. The school has overall a great place for students to go learn and grow and succeed.
I am a Junior in the IB program here at Wilson and i couldnt be prouder of myself. I came into the school with poor grades and now I am challenging myself with the hardest classes offered in the district. no other schools in the RCSD offer IB classes, and Wilson has pushed me to try my best, work hard, and take the harder classes. I now have a full ride to the UofR because of the IB program. I reccomend wilson to any student that is wondering about which high school to go to
What I like about Jpseph C. Wilson is that it has diversity of many kids coming from different countries or they are from here but with different ethncity and or culture/religion. Some things I would love to see changes are the food and more involment in clubs and activities.
I loved Wilson magnet High School when I went. The teachers were friendly, helpful, and down to earth. I remember when I lost my dad before entering High school, and the guidance counselor found out. The counselor made it her responsibility to look after me and check on me my freshman year. That was something that has always stuck with me even as a adult. One thing I do wish they had was more diversity with the teachers. Student always look for somebody that looks like them so they can feel a certain comfortability.
The teachers at Joseph C. Wilson Magnet High School are very qualified to do there job. The teachers make sure that the students understand the work .
I definitely would recommend my highschool to other people. While time can be rough, the school is a part of the International Baccalaureate program, which while challenging, offers students a chance to learn more about the world, and engage in studies that are not usually available in a normal setting. The teachers are also amazing and have given me a lot of life advice, and the courses have taught me how to manage my time.
Joseph C Wilson school is a school of prestigious students that have the mindset to strive for the best and be overachievers. The teachers here at Wilson try their best and make sure that the students are satisfied with the overall style of learning and understand the material thoroughly. One thing we could keep under control are the continuous fight that happen that I feel we could do better.
my experience with this high school was pretty rocky but very interesting because I am still finding myself and got a way to experience a lot. The things that needs to be improved in the school are having properly trained teachers, staff needs better communication with students and more activities within the school should be showcased more.
My experience at Wilson has been good. Being that I went to the same school kindergarten to 9th grade was a big change ,come 10th grade but in the end benefited me in many ways. I've been able to grow socially and make new friends also become comfortable in new environments. Also, I've been able to grow academically with a new and more challenging IB curriculum.
Back when I was in 9th and 10th grade Wilson was an amazing school. They still are a good school as far as academics go but recently they've started to go downhill. I have a good relationship with most of the staff in that school i'd say I have it better than some of the other students. The staff do nothing for you. Literally. they do things to make the school look good, the majority of them don't actually care about the students. We do have a select few that genuinely care but for the most part you're on your own.
My overall experience with Wilson, is great. I feel as if, a lot of the students were all on the same mindset, we would be better. Our school spirit could be better but its overall okay.
I immediately fell in love with Wilson on the first day of school. I was a nervous and shy kid entering a new world, but I was met with smiling faces and a warm aura that penetrated even the most scared parts of me. The staff was also very friendly from the start of my time there, to the very end. My teachers and counselors were always eager to help me every step of the way in my journey to pursue higher education. I am eternally grateful for all of the valuable advice they shared with me and I cannot wait to see them again so that I can give them thanks to their face. I highly recommend Wilson Magnet High School. I made life-long friendships and relationships with teachers and students that will last forever.
Very good school with exceptional teachers who focus on excellence by preparing students for life after high school. Safe neighborhood and environment to send your children to. Support is provided if needed for educational success and is a well known high school in the Rochester NY area that focuses on academic excellence with many graduating students achieving careers in politics, law and the medical field just to name a few.
Being my last year at Wilson Magnet High School I was able to experince the school from the beginnig. So far my 10th grade year and 12th grade has been the best time going there. Since I am in the International Baccalaureate that is offered there I had a different experince than the average student going there. The staff and teachers that are in the ib program are wonderful. They have suported me from start to finish since I have join the ib program which is truly greatful.
I loved the school it was fun and easy to fit in. It even offers IB classes. The school tries to incorporate a sprt or club for everyone.
Joseph C. Wilson Magnet High School is an International Baccalaureate school where the classes are college based. Me being a rising senior, I take IB classes which really puts your mind in the right direction for college. I love the fact that the teachers actually help you when you ask them the first time. Even thought it is a very small high school unlike others, the diversity is really up there so no kids really feel left out -- which is an amazing thing. Although there might be some altercations with the students, the Wilson family is really close. I'm actually proud and excited to graduate from one of the best schools in the nation; I know it will look good for my college applications.
