I would like to say that Jonesboro High School is a really nice school. Though the students on one hand can be a bit much, some of the teachers can be really good teachers and actually know how to teach and connect with the students. There are some teachers that many students don’t get along with, I so far haven’t gotten any bad teachers but I do know a few people who have gotten really bad teachers. I would like to see a change in the foods we have. A lot of the people don’t want to eat the cafeteria food and rely on the vending machine to fill their needs but the school always takes out the machines. We all need our stomaches filled and ready to learn because a student with a headache is bad news.
I love Jonesboro High School! I had the option to attend two other high schools in the district, but I chose this one because I liked that they had a phenomenal marching band of which I am a part of, and I was interested in the Political Science Magnet Program of which I am also in. They also have a diverse group of extracurricular activities that many students can participate in as well as being academically sound, whether it’s sports or otherwise. There is something for every student.
Academically, I have had some great teachers. I have also taken a prep SAT class which was offered on Saturdays for 6 weeks. I feel like Jonesboro High School had provided me with a lot of positive resources that has encouraged me to be a more successful student.
Band has also been a great influence on my artistic ability as a snare drummer. We traveled to perform when I was a freshman to Chicago, Alabama, Tennessee and all over Georgia.
I have valued my experience at Jonesboro so far.

Jonesboro High School help express who you are instead of justing look at one student. The student and facility are extremely nice and are very easy to talk to. I am able to make friend very easily no matter what race you are or how you look like.
Most of the teachers are very helpful and willing to take some time out of their day to make sure that you understand the curriculum,
What I like about Jonesboro High School is a lot of things like their academics. The school teachers are excellent the school hired intelligent teachers. The administration is very good they try their hardest to keep the school safe.
I have only been at Jonesboro for two years, technically one (physically and in person cause of Covid-19). But from what I have experienced, it is a very good school. The staff are fine, the kids are okay. We all know that at any school there are bad kids and good kids, well Jonesboro does have some bad/ fast kids. Otherwise the school is perfectly fine. Some things I would like to see changed is the food (this really goes for any school) and the bathrooms. The bathrooms are old and have really small stalls. Also a lot of the problems come from the students not being clean. But we might get new bathrooms, because the school is being remodeled and soon the whole school will be brand new. Something else i would like changed, is how they promote things. When i first came to Jonesboro, i didn't really know that they had any clubs, but there are some. The school just doesn't promote very well, or really talk about them. You have to hear about them from other students to know about them.
Overall the school is a good environment to be in.The staff and students always have positive feedback in situations. There is never a dull moment with anyone.Everyone gets along fairly great.
The girl's restroom's don't have doors, the toilet seats are always broken and the restroom sinks too. The hallways rink a disgusting smell due to the restrooms never being clean. The books, the desks, and classrooms need to be updated . It's always hot in the hallways and classrooms, and there is always mildew on the ceilings. The cafeteria food is nasty and stinks. Somebody get the bug spray because there are mad big cockroaches found in the stairways, hallways, and classrooms. The counselor's don't care about the student's, and just come to work just to talk and know about everyone's business. The only good thing about this school is that at least the teachers keep it real with the student's. Also, I don't like how you can't go to the restroom during the day because they always keep it locked throughout the day and the teachers never seem to want to open it because they're afraid to get in trouble by whomever. They just pay any body to teach a class with out a degree.
My experience was alright but due to COVID I did not have the whole senior year experience. I hope the school finishes construction before students go back. It was a pain walking around construction and hearing the loud noises.
My experience at jonesboro high school is great. I say this because you have alot of teachers that are by your side to help you the best that they can, plus the students there are great also. There is no drama at school and everybody is to themselves and friendly. Even though I've only been at jonesboro only for some months now, i have really enjoyed it so far.
Jonesboro High School is a pretty average school. The teacher are helpful and nice. It was easy to make friends with other students when I first joined. The school environment is a bit run down, but it is currently being remodeled.
This school is not a bad school just need an update on technology .But what i do like is that the school is very close to the police station .
Jonesboro high is a very fun school it’s in construction right now It’s looking good over been there since my freshman year the school does need a little improvement in technology and more math products to help out a little more but other than that the school is safe it’s right by a police station
Great school undergoing an aesthetic change for further the appeal of the already dominant and successful environment.
I liked how the teachers and staff were very helpful. The school itself could use some improvements.
I can’t speak for all the teachers, but the ones I had for honors and gifted classes were great at their job. Although I have moved away from this school, I know that there have been reconstruction and new buildings will be/ have been added, making it very new and nicer looking.
Your experience at JHS is what you make it. There's really nothing at this school unlike pretty much every other public high school in America. Some teachers care more than others, both about their jobs and their students. This school has all the classic high school cliques such as the popular kids, the athletes, the emos, and the nerds. In my opinion if anything can be done to improve this school, it should be cleaned better, offer more courses to prepare you for college and the real world, and hire more teachers that care about making their classes fun rather than passing out worksheets and sitting on their phones for the rest of the period.
