As a new student coming into Johnston Senior High school my freshman year, I did not feel as though I did not fit in, and was surprised by the variety of classes this school has. My schedule consisted of honors and regular college prep classes. Having a diverse schedule I was able to meet many new friends who guided me in the right direction. The teachers are understanding and the students that I have talked to have atleast one adult they can confide in. Classrooms are in decent shape, do wish for better cleanliness and food choices. Have had a great experience!
Honestly, I think this place was pretty horrible. You had your few awesome teachers who you’d love seeing, but then basically every other teacher was dreadful. The classes are pretty limited, but are slowly growing so I have to give some props. The music and art departments are severely lacking and just downright awful. There’s little to no consequence for trashing the place, especially since the place seems trashed without anybody needing to do anything to it. The sports and other clubs were nice and there were a decent amount of options, but far from being great. I’d say the best thing about this school was it’s after school activities but being a Covid graduate of 2021 I unfortunately missed out on most of them for my last two years.
Johnston High school did a very good job at keeping students involved and having fun. the teachers and staff were very caring, they really care about their students and want to see them exceed in everything possible and will go out of their way to make sure that you reach your set goal. There were some things I wish they would have done better on, Johnston high school has a very low minority rate so the school is predominantly white, I really wish they would have made more of an effort to teach and show everyone's culture and got the students involved in it. that is the only thing this school lacks of. this is a fantastic school!
