I have attended this school since my first year of my post-secondary education. This school has been progressing slowly in equality such as putting a dress code on males as much they put on females. But overall, there is no diversity in gender and having bathroom that include non-binaries. This community has its flaws but seem to enhance their involvement in inclusion and participation for all groups.
I like the diversity of the school as well as the atmosphere. No matter what, I always feel welcome and at home when i’m in the JHS building or any related event. Bleed Blue!
My experience at johnson is one of a kind. The adminstrators are wonderful. At Johnson is like a family to me.
I like how Johnson is quick to fix issues when it comes to safety, but I hope they start enforcing the dress code more (not only towards females students, but males also).
I loved the spirit and energy everyone had. It felt like a big family. We had a Knights creed that we followed, which is be respectful, be honest, be personally responsible, and you are blessed with a talent use it to make a positive difference. I’ve been graduated for 2 years now and I still remember the creed. If I could change one thing there it would be for it to be cleaner.
See walking into Johnson it is not just a school for me. It was a home away from home. When I couldn't call my mom I had other adults there I could look up to knowing they would help me out. There were even days when all I could do is go to school and cry. At Johnson high school if you were knockdown there teacher and students will bring you back up. Now they wouldn't just pass you on to the next grade. They would make you think Yes it was a lot of challenges while I was there, but the people around wouldn't let me give up. I liked to atmosphere that Johnson had and all the great teachers. It was a wonderful place that I got to make great memorizes in. I am really going to miss all of the amazing teachers and friends there and activities.
Johnson is a very diverse school, with amazing administration. They treated all the students with respect and made sure everyone felt at home.
Johnson High school Has A Good Selection Of teachers who could help make the experience better and they offer great tutoring opportunities but the school isn’t really a place for high school experiences. The Administration isn’t much helpful when it comes to certain issues but the counselors are amazing . The school is old and needs work done to it as well as more fun experiences for students .
One of the greatest aspects of Johnson High School was the diversity of its students. I never felt out of place in class, and the community was generally nice. However, senior year seemed to be underwhelming. The administration changed a bit this school year and some of the senior events don't feel the same. An example of this are senior quotes, which aren't available for this year's class of 2020.
Education-wise, as of now, it is very insightful and provides great information that'll prepare me for my future. For example, it comes with a program that helps prepare the student with the IB program, known to be notoriously difficult. There are many opportunities for a student such as myself to engage in various club activities and even more among the oncoming years. Many of the staff are very kind, providing an experience that allowed me to ease into a higher level of education rather easily. While I disagree with how some of the extracurricular programs are taught, I understand that if I were the understand how it is taught, I would benefit greatly. The school, for the most part, is full of positive spirit and it encourages me to expand my education even further.
There is no other school in the world that I would want to be at other than Johnson High School. Johnson encourages students to live by a creed not only in the classroom, but also in everyday life. This creed allows students to succeed in any circumstance as it says “Respect, honesty, personal responsibility, using our talents to make a positive difference. This is our creed. It’s what we believe and this is what makes us on uKNIGHTed nation.” If there is only one thing that a student remembers from the principals or the morning announcements, I hope they remember the creed because it teaches valuable personality traits that each person should foster.
I would definitely say that their academics prepares you extremely well for college, and the coursework is extremely rigorous. However, I would like to see an improvement in the clarity and communication skills of the teachers.
I love the Administration and the Diversity at this school. Principal, Robert Lewis is very active with the students and encourages them to be the best they can be. I feel the student body as a whole get along very great and for the most part are well rounded. I would like to see more active role with sports are concerned. Better equipment and coaches more interested in the players. I feel sports and other extracurricular activities keep young adults out of harms way. I also feel that the Counselors should be more involed with students that are wanting to go to and encourage them and help them more with college decision instead of brushing them off and saying a Junior College is better than actual 4 year college because they are not part of the IB group.
Welcoming environment! It truly feels like one big family. There aren't your typical high school cliques and you can truly be whoever you want to be at Johnson!
Johnson High School was a good school and wish I could have ended up staying there for my last two school years however I wasn’t able to. All the students are nice and welcoming making it easy to make friends. The teachers are nice as well and are very helpful and understanding making it an easy way to learn in class. One thing that I didn’t like was that students would have to walk outside to get to their foreign language classes. This would become a problem especially on days when it would be raining or too cold. I wish they could make them part of the actual school building. I believe that this is a really good high school in which students should go to.
I loved my time at Johnson, the students were nice and the teachers were friendly. If I had to change anything it would be a school remodel.
