I was a student at Johnson Ferry Christian Academy for 8 years, from 5th grade to 12th grade, and I loved every year! Johnson Ferry is a wonderful Christian environment for every age, but it was especially impactful to me in high school. Getting to be surrounded by teachers and administrators who love Jesus was such a privilege. Additionally, my time at Johnson Ferry with the university model class schedule prepared me for college in more ways than I know. I would go back and do it all again! To anyone considering attending Johnson Ferry Christian Academy (affectionately called "jfca"), go. Meet the people. See the classrooms. Find out for yourself why so many call it home.
Johnson Ferry Christian Academy definitely prepares its students for college, what with the 2 in-class school days per week. The schedule teaches you to how to manage your time wisely, and it gives you the freedom to do other activities during the day when you would normally be in school. The student environment is like any other high school just smaller and a bit more immature, but that is to be expected in a tiny private high school. I will mention, however, the teachers at JFCA are very hit or miss. In my experience, I have only had one decent science teacher at this school that was actually qualified to be teaching. For the most part though, the teachers here are dedicated to their students and furthering their knowledge. As to the lunch food, I am not qualified to give an opinion, seeing as I have always brought my lunch to school.
Johnson Ferry developed me into the confident person I am today. To start It has a nice college feeling, and the building is updated and nice, which makes me want to go there and do work on days without classes. Never have I thought I would think a high school building was nice. The classes are on Tuesday and Friday because of the college structure, which I believe is a key component in college readiness.. Since my beginning there in 7th grade. I have developed independence that I never could have comprehended. My grades were very poor, but starting in 8th grade I skyrocketed to all A’s, which amazed me because the courses are undeniably harder.
Johnson Ferry is not perfect. The school is very tiny, which i prefer, yet the diversity among the classes is poor. I feel like I am with the same people all day long and as previous years. My most diverse classes are classes with mixed grades. This a factor of their faculty disorganization.
Overall the school is fabulous.
