Powell is a wonderful community school. Children can easily and comfortably transition from elementary to middle school here and will learn a lot from the variety of class options and great teachers. They really get you ready for high school and beyond.
There is a decent variety of extracurriculars at this school if you would choose to be involved.
Powell has good academics. If you put in some work you can be pretty successful. I had incredible language arts teachers but that was a few years ago so I'm not sure how it is now.
There are sports and a few clubs. Nothing great but if you want to be involved you can definitely find a way. I appreciate that there are activity buses for those who need a way home later.
Powell was a middle school that prepared me for high school and one where I had a few incredible teachers and a couple very bad ones. Academically, it's pretty decent, but socially it is not very diverse and is extremely cliquey, which is something that you may like if your are rich, outgoing and naturally "popular" but isn't great for the rest of the world. I'm sure some of this can be attributed to the fact that middle school is a rough time in general but I do wish that Powell had been more inclusive.
There's a reason this is one of the top rated Middle schools in Colorado.
The lockers could use a replacement - but overall? The school is in great shape and always clean!
On a par with most schools.
Our child has loved every single teacher she has had.
We came from years of private schools. The experience at Powell has been better. We could not have asked for a better place for our 6th grader. Finishing out this year happier than we could've expected.
There is pretty much a club for anything that interests the students. If they don't have one, but they want one? The school encourages them to start it and faculty helps.
The athletics are great for a middle school and supported.

The nurse's office is great. The security personnel are great. The officers who are school resource personnel are great. We feel completely safe with our child at this school.
The kids are generally good here. There is not, sadly, a ton of diversity just due to the district. But the community as a whole is open and accepting.
Some of the teachers were very good but there were a few teachers who were very rude. Some teachers had very good teaching skills. Some teachers with certain subjects did not do very well at teaching it. Communication skills with most of them were not doing well.
There mostly was food always available for vegetarians. The rest is greasy(fattening foods).
They only talk to the "bullies". Only depending on the situation they give detention. Dress code is the same as the whole district. Office staff was okay but not the best.
I had a bad time at this school all together. There was bullying involved. We had no drug searches.
