Powell was a middle school that prepared me for high school and one where I had a few incredible teachers and a couple very bad ones. Academically, it's pretty decent, but socially it is not very diverse and is extremely cliquey, which is something that you may like if your are rich, outgoing and naturally "popular" but isn't great for the rest of the world. I'm sure some of this can be attributed to the fact that middle school is a rough time in general but I do wish that Powell had been more inclusive.
Powell is a wonderful community school. Children can easily and comfortably transition from elementary to middle school here and will learn a lot from the variety of class options and great teachers. They really get you ready for high school and beyond.
There is pretty much a club for anything that interests the students. If they don't have one, but they want one? The school encourages them to start it and faculty helps.
The athletics are great for a middle school and supported.
