Not a bad school but there are a few things that don’t make me like it that much. I have gone here since kindergarten and have not really had any huge complaints. I am not a fan of school but there have been some things that have changed and happened that make me not the biggest fan. The main being the way things have been handled but other than that it has not been a bad school.
John T. Morgan Academy is a very good school for where it is located. It is by far the best school Selma, Alabama has to offer. The faculty at Morgan are very prepared to teach. The college readiness is very good for Morgan Academy seniors and they are always prepared for the next steps after high school. Athletics are taking very serious at Morgan as well. They perform very well in most sports and have many state championships to prove it. The coaching staff at Morgan prides itself on its ability to win.
Morgan Academy is a great school with loving students, coaches, teachers, and many more. We are a small school and everyone is family. I know everyone and everyone is there for eachother. Sports are so much fun and your team is your best friends.
I went to Morgan Academy for 12 years. It seems that there is some favoritism at the school, and I definitely felt it as a minority. However, my transition to college was fairly easy.
The staff of Morgan are absolutely incredible. I have never met a staff that would risk so much in order to help their students succeed and succeed well. However, I wouldn't recommend Morgan to many people at all. The education is not worth the high price, and with the strange preppy mob mentality, the students aren't very constructive to people's social skills. The cafeteria food could use some minor improvements, and I definitely recommend that the bathrooms get redone. The smart boards are a nice touch to the educational environment, but the classrooms themselves need to be upgraded. Perhaps investments in better furniture would be in order?
Overall, expensive and weird. But my education got me to college and soon to be beyond.

I loved the family feel of Morgan's student body. I only wish that there were more academic clubs offered rather than attention focused soley on sports.
I attended this school for 12 years. Some issues that need to be revised are the lack of racial diversity, and also the school needs to make their Honors classes weighted heavier than regular classes. I believe that they should also challenge their students more so they can be prepared for college, and the real world. The school should also offer more elective classes that can help students narrow down possible career choices in their future.
I have attended Morgan Academy since kindergarten. My dad, uncles and aunt, as well as my three siblings also all graduated from the school. Morgan is a small private school that has a real family feel. You feel loved and protected by all the teachers as well as the parents. Because of the small size of the school each student is given the opportunity to be very well rounded in activities and sports. I feel as though I have received a strong basic education and am ready to attend college next year, but I do believe there is room for improvement. In particular I think there needs to be a broader variety of elective courses as well as more information given about the wide variety of career opportunities. I do not feel as if anything other than the core basic classes are taught. The school has been improving its technology, but I feel as though they are behind in this area as well. Overall, my thirteen years I spent at Morgan Academy have been very positive.
The majority of the teachers at Morgan have done a great job teaching the students. I've been to a few different schools before Morgan and none has offered education like Morgan has. In Morgan if a teacher goes too fast in a lesson , and one student needs them to slow down the teacher would do that for that one student. Also they love it when students reply in class. Many of the teachers consistently ask the students to share their thoughts and answers. They're grading is pretty consistent also. Although some teachers have trouble with the system , and they put wrong scores for the students.
There are not a lot of health and safety policies at my school. Bullying is not tolerated since our school is small. If someone gets bullied it's likely to be known and taken care of. We do have drills for fire, tornadoes, lockdowns and other drills. There aren't many police officers near, but there are some traffic guards. Our school doesn't have a nurse for the high school students , but there is one for the elementary students. In my honest opinion the school does not typically do a fair job in keeping the shool safe. I think the reason for that is because our school is pretty isolated from people.
Clubs are pretty limited. There are maybe only five active clubs in the shool. Most of the clubs are pretty committed. Many of them stay after school to finish a project or rehearsal. Although the clubs do not last throughout the entire school year; they last for only a couple of months.
Teahing styles are not the best, but the effort is there for most of them
My school is very caring and safe.
The teachers are honestly amazing.
Athletics are very important here. Only about 20% of the student body are not involved in sports.
There are many students of varying races and cultures at Morgan.
