I like how small the school is. You get to have one on one with the teachers and you don't feel like you're being ignored. You also get the chance to branch out and maybe do an extracurricular you never thought you would.
JPII is an amazing school where you will meet friends that you will have for life. The small school environment makes it so your classmates and fellow students are like your family. The teachers and staff truly care about you and your success.
The teachers are not supportive of the students education and the athletic department and coaches have really gone down hill!
What I personally like about St. John Paul II Catholic High School is how the education of students comes first before anything else. This high school is a college prep school. The teachers at this school focus really hard on making it seem as if you were attending college at the moment. They do not accept late work and attendance is everything for them. It came to the point where they came up with consequences if you came late to class or miss ten unexcused days. Safety for them is a priority. They will be on a look out every minute and never leave students unattended. When it comes to sports, every player and even coach(es) puts effort to be the best team even if they do not win. The important thing is teamwork. Many parents at St. John Paul II Catholic High School put all their time to give the students the best time when it comes to
planning events. I wouldn't honestly change anything about this school. Therefore, I recommend students to attend this high school.

JPII is an amazing school! This is my son 1st year and he's loving it. My son has soared tremendously at JPII, the administration and staff have made an amazing impact on him and they're always helpful and kind to him. We're not catholic, my son has been able to maintain his christian belief as non-denominational without being impeded on. I recommend this school to any parent looking for a superb education for your kid.
Joanna Copenhaver is an amazing Principal, I have been pleased with her and the way she runs the school. She cares about the kids as if they are her own.

Coming from a public school and entering this school was life changing because with the other school there were many students with few teachers so the teachers hardly had any time for the students. Coming to jpii i had one in one teacher and student ratio. I learn a lot from them because it will help me in college.
There is still administrative bully going on especially in the financial department. Also there has been a huge turnover in staff and teachers.
I really miss the old leadership. Some of the attitudes of the office staff, Coaches, and teachers are not welcoming. I am really considering going elsewhere next year. I love the small class sizes but that would be the only pro at this time.
John Paul II High School allowed students to really get involved and actively participate in any/all clubs and sports. The administration really supported the student body and were actively involved all events. Overall it is a great environment and excelled academically.
The school is small, allowing for more personal interaction with students by teachers. However, the administration changes frequently, causing chaos among the student body.
My experience at St. John Paul II Catholic High School was a very important part of forming me into the person I am today. Not only did it give me a solid Catholic foundation to carry into college and beyond, it gave me some of the best teachers and staff I have ever encountered. JPII has its problems especially with the complete change of leadership the summer between my junior and senior year but the teachers and students handled it with grace and held onto each other reinforcing the idea that it is not just a school but a family environment. I wish the new leadership the best of luck as they move our school forward into the future and I pray that they maintain the family atmosphere that really sets JPII apart from the rest.
bullying and physical abuse by the administration - can't really say more
Basically not Christian - an evil administration. Don't be fooled
Very pleased with the overall JPII experience as a parent.. JPII has the academic rigor expected of a college prep school, availability and access to many extra curricular activities-sports, service and academic clubs. IPad technology is a huge plus over other private and public schools. Great learning environment with faith filled values and expectations. Very caring and nurturing staff.
My children love the ipad/technology infused curriculum, and the wide variety of class options for a small school. Most of the students play sports and this fall the golf, volleyball and football all went to regional or state. I've been very impressed with small things like the Homecoming where the students organized the entire week, and the spirit at sports games where even the families who children are not playing come to hang out together. There is a spirit of camaraderie that is amazing.
My high school is awesome, it has such a good variety of students which makes the experience even better.
Though the school lacks a lot of money, I would not choose any other school given the chance. I love the people and teachers here, and I love the commitment to learning. In addition, because of its small size, you get personal attention in everything from classes to clubs. You can also be involved in way more things because it's a small school. Finally, the dedication of all the faculty and staff to helping the students grow closer to their faith in incredible, and everyone is very kind. The academics are also great! Though there may not be tons of available ap classes, the individualized instruction helps you maximize your chances of success. I was admitted into many top ranking universities including the University of Chicago, Brown University, and Washington University in St. Louis. This school oth helped build me as a person and a student, and loved every second!
