I love jma! Best School. It feels like a family. The teachers are very helpful and always willing to assist you with any questions. The sports are great. The coaches are great. Both my parents graduated from this high school and so it has been a part of my family for a long time. The class room sizes are small and everyone knows everybody. It has been a great school to attend. I have been given many opportunities that I would not have gotten had I been at a bigger school.
The only really big reason I enjoyed it was because of the class I was in. The other classes/grades were incredibly annoying and disruptive. Most of the teachers were nice and easy going, but only maybe one or two were legitimately great teachers who taught the material in a fun, in depth way. The school clearly only cares about football with little care for anything else. Food was bad. Like I said, not too in depth with the material except for one class or one teacher. I'm only somewhat recommending it because some how the other schools in the area and the town are supposed to be worse.
The teachers are encouraging, uplifting, & trustworthy. I have discussed many of my personal problems to them & received fantastic feedback & advice. The student body is mostly accepting & kind; you just have to find the right group of people. Every school has its own group of rude and unkind people & so does John Milledge Academy. However, I can definitely say the amount of good people outweigh the bad by a great deal. The school itself is small & a bit old. The high school bathrooms just received new toilets & sinks which were desperately needed. The class rooms are generally colorful & fun yet contribute to keeping students focused during class. The sports program is amazing. Every team becomes a tight-knit family & the coaches are supportive yet push their players hard. Overall, I am happy with the school I attended for 14 years & I definitely would not choose any other school in the area to attend other than John Milledge Academy.
John Milledge Academy is a very small school. The academics are not very challenging, and the teachers are able to be very accommodating since there are not many students. The campus itself is in need of some upgrades. The athletics are pretty good for a private school. There are not many clubs, but it is easy to get involved in the ones that are available. There is very poor diversity at this school. Family oriented, small town private school.
John Milledge Academy was a great experience. The family atmosphere and Christian based activities were what made the school feel like a comfortable place.
I like the family centered atmosphere. The diversity of students within the school i feel should be increased however. The opportunities, as for joining clubs and college campus visits, are made readily available. Because the campus here is small, the teachers are able to directly interact with us and learn in what ways we learn the best. Our sport teams take a hard hit with the campus being so small because athletes are spread thin with certain sports. Especially during certain months when overlapping of sport events occur. The sharing of athletes among coaches however do increase cooperation and respect among faculty, which in turn allow a good model for us as students to follow.
There could be more extracurricular activities to choose from, from my school but they are accommodating to me.
I've gone here most of my life and I've never had any problems with this school they continue to improve the school every year to make things better and make our experience in high school one to remember. If I had it to do all over I would choose this school again because of all my great experiences and meeting my friends and helpful teachers.
All of my current and past teachers have always been good at keeping up with every ones grades. All teachers offer after school help and a lending hand if a student is falling behind or need extra help in class. Most or All of my teachers take our classes on field trips to different places based on what lessons are being taught at the moment to help us better understand what we are learning at the time. All of our teachers a fully qualified with a teaching degree and most major in the subject that they teach. All of my teachers have great communication skills and help to keep all students up to date on everything going on around campus.
Sports are a big part of my school. Teachers, students, parents, and outside peers come to our sporting events. Our coaches and facilities are top notch and our school spirit is contagious.
Our school has awesome sport facilities and our education is being brought up to be level with the sports instead of not being as good.
