John I. Leonard's students are afforded many luxuries such as free AP and AICE exams and the people are usually down-to-earth. Get to know your guidance counselors and administrators and they will help you out.
The academies are good although they could use some improving and should have more strict requirements to get in because some classes like Honors Chemistry and Biology are spoon-fed as a result of it. There is more of a focus on AICE rather than AP because of the AICE Diploma but that's to be expected.
There are some great teachers, especially in STEM subjects but also all-around.
I enjoyed my experience with my teachers and definitely recommend others to take advantage of the opportunities they're given in going to this school. Go Lancers!

I love being part of The Lancers, At John I Leonard High School, because in that school I learned how to grow and succes in life, how to speak English, to develop my abilities, how to be someone in life. I met wonderful people! Great Great Teachers, Counselors Even the people in the cafeteria were the best. I will never forget my experience In John I, At the beginning it was difficult, because I just came to this country without knowing any English, much less the culture, but that school helped me to improve myself and I am grateful for who I am now.
Although it is a large school with a significant amount of students, it is well structured and organized. The staff is very strict and always make sure that every student is following the school rules. There are also policemen on campus, that make the campus environment feel safe. The Guidance Counselors always go out of their way to help students. In addition, the school provides the students with various different food options for lunch, and always serves healthy dishes. The staff at lunch always keep the Cafeteria spotless and the lunch servers always have a positive attitude towards the students. The teachers are very dedicated to their students' education and always provide students with well structured teaching methods. The school also provides the students with various electives, sports and after school activities. The only thing that I would change is the lack of cleanliness for the downstairs bathroom in the main building.
