Nearly one semester into my freshman year at John Glenn, I love the school. I come from a different district and was originally terrified of being the odd one out, as many of the freshmen will have already determined their friend groups during middle school and would be hesitant to accept new people. I was completely wrong, for when I got there, I was accepted almost immediately by all of the students and faculty, and the sense of community within the school is overwhelmingly amazing. I feel as if I've known these kids for all of my life. Aside from the atmosphere, the learning environment is great. It promotes the importance of good education and breeds successful scholars, especially with how much they stress being prepared for college. I have little to no complaints about the school so far, except for the fact that some of the teachers are definitely a bit too lenient when it comes to disciplinary actions regarding disruptive students, but otherwise, the school is quite lovely!
John Glenn has been my high school for these past 4 years. John Glenn is a very well diverse school with great faculty. Never have I ever felt unsafe in this school, the staff are always ready to step in to protect the students should anything happen. John Glenn has plenty of sports from football to horse back riding to bowling. The drama class is well supported and well known for the plays and musicals. The marching band almost wins every competition. There is a place for everyone at John Glenn and I’m proud to be a rocket!
Generally, my experience thus far has been good. I liked how friendly the teachers are they are always ready to lend a hand in anyway they can. The students are energetic and unique. They are quite honest, and are always willing to lend a hand. The schools counselling office also provides the student with lots of resources such as scholarship search engines to assist with tuition. Setting up meeting with counselors is relatively easy. There are tutors available to help with homework and topics you don't quite understand. The school's family resource center helps students from low income family to get access to some basic necessities they made need. Although sometimes the students and teachers do experience some technical difficulties technology . To sum it up, I quite enjoy school, and I hope that soon I will be able to go back to school .
