John Glenn High School Reviews
Rating 4.13 out of 5 151 reviews
I had an overall very good experience at John Glenn High School. Their are many things about this school that students here may take for granted. we have very reliable counselors and administration, but there are a few downfalls. Their are some students who tend to be out of control and ruin the experience for everyone else. Mental health needs to be addressed and taken care of more. Many students deal with family issues and problems they don't think they can talk about. This needs to change, they should feel like they are at a safe place at school.
You will find some hidden gems in the teachers, but overall I would say there are not too many great teachers. There are a few that go above and beyond, the ones that do their job, and then the ones that don't care at all. The administration staff is also not very helpful, nor are the counselors or principals. They talk to you once about something and if you are not persistent the issue will not get resolved.
John Glenn is a very good high school for academics. They have lovely teachers and a very nice school building. But of course, John Glenn does need some work. They need to work on their music and art departments more, especially the art department. We only have one art teacher who is very over worked. Also, the guidance counselors are heavily over worked as well with things that don't come with their position. Unfortunately it's a small school, it doesn't have enough money to hire more people, but If a student is interested in science, math, or writing, they will get a very good education. The same goes for art and music, the teachers that this school does have are very good at their jobs and have made many of their students' talents flourish. So eventhough the school needs a little help financially, they make do with what they have, and they have done a wonderful job at that.
