John F. Kennedy Middle School Reviews
Rating 2.5 out of 5 2 reviews
If you have available alternatives, I do not recommend sending your children to Kennedy Middle School whatsoever. My cousin attends school here, and the administration has time and time again failed to reprimand students for harassing and/or bullying him on the basis of his skin color. The issues seem to be so pervasive and relentless, that he has a new complaint almost every week. When the administration is made aware, they neither attempt to sit accuser and accused down with each other to have them work it out civilly, nor do they appropriately punish those students whom they know committed these transgressions. The school breeds a distinctly hostile environment for its minority students, and through their irresponsible handling of cases of bullying, clearly do not understand the repercussions of their inaction -- something with suggests either ignorance, incompetence, or blatant disregard. Relatively good academically, but disastrously poor in the social arena.
The student to teacher ratio at Kennedy Middle school is NOT 12-1. My son is in 5th grade, there are 2 classrooms, each with 22+ kids. Recently Kennedy began taking kids from an additional elementary school so it’s overcrowded to the point that they’re relying on mobile classroom trailers.
Also, special ed in Natick schools is stretched very thin, with much of the SPED staff working either part time or across multiple schools.
