What can be said about John F. Kennedy High School? It's the school I spent all four years of my high school experience, so that must mean something, right? It is precisely what a high school should embody: great academics, good sports, excellent staff, etc. JFKHS is home to great programs including an arts magnet and medical magnet. The arts magnet consisted of digital design, architecture, and film. Meanwhile, the medical magnet provided students with the opportunity to look at problems and situations from the perspective of the medical field. I was apart of the infamous class of 2020, the class of "Covid" if you will. Nevertheless, the high school still managed to hold things together online with classes, as well as a small ceremony to send seniors off in a proper way. I managed to meet great people and create some fond memories thanks to John F. Kennedy High School, so it's clear that my experience at JFKHS was nothing short of excellent.
John F. Kennedy is a very good school. While my field of knowledge is limited as I was only in the Medical Magnet and, as such, lack the experience to talk about the teachers of the campus as a whole, those that I did meet were very good. They are oft incredibly motivated to help out students and develop a positive relationship with them, allowing students to succeed with great bounds. It is also a constantly expanding school which brings along a wide variety of opportunities. However, a notable shortcoming is, as of late, the school is expanding a little too fast with the influx of students putting strains on the counselors to fit all the students into the classes, leading to classes with very large amounts of students. Overall though, the school is very good with ample amounts of opportunities. It is also not crowded to the point to where it's impossible to distinguish yourself from your peers and really shine. A very good school for hard-workers.
John F Kennedy High school introduced me to extracurriculars I enjoyed participating in, such as teams in the NJROTC unit and Cal-Hosa. Extracurriculars are offered and made noticeable to everyone in the school. In JFK High school, SAT prep classes and the college room help students prepare for college and make sure every student is making the best choices for themselves. The school emphasized the importance of academic achievement by awarding students with high grade point averages and offering extra help and tutoring for those with low grades. I've also met some of my closest friends at this school. Ive rarely ever seen anyone get bullied or harassed publicly at my school and fights on campus rarely ever happen. From the time I've been attending this school, there has been no fights because the staff always make sure everything is orderly in the school. The teachers also care about your schoolwork immensely, finding any way to help you understand the material.
