John C. Kimball High School Reviews

Bring someone of color, I would say that the diverse backgrounds I have encountered make for a hospitable environment. The campus is very clean and well maintained by custodians. The custodians also make sure that the students feel welcomed by greeting them each morning. In addition, there are many social events such as orientation helpers, rallies and connection groups that allow teamwork to occur. There are many leadership opportunities and clubs available at John C. Kimball as well. On the contrary, from my experience, there has been very limited help from school class counselors. There are not many resources when it comes to getting lead for college by a counselor. Another negative I have taken from my experience at John C. Kimball are the teachers I have had. When it comes to higher level classes, many teachers grade on participation instead of accuracy, and give the same worksheets as those of CP classes. Overall, I would rate my experience at Kimball to be an 8/10
I loved the environment and where the school was located, it was a very big high school campus in my town. The teachers there cared for the students and I miss some of the teachers that work there, they always made my day a little better and I always looked forward to their classes!
My best experience at John C. Kimball Highschool was my freshman year in biology and health concepts. I had the very best teacher and he actually put time into trying to teach us the material rather than rushing through everything without slowing down for the students. I was able to get A’s in both classes due to have an amazing teacher and if I could have had him as my chem teacher my sophomore year, I probably would’ve done way better than I did. My worst experience was in my sophomore year of Highschool, chemistry. I had the worst teacher ever. He could barely teach and he rushed through lessons without teaching us, his students, properly. He only ever did a lecture once in a while and he would always just give us one example to go off of for any chemistry problems. When a student would ask him a question or for help with a chem problem/equation, he would usually point up at the board and say there is an example up there. I ended up with a C in the class at the end of the year.
