At the high school John A. Ferguson Senior High, there are numerous positive factors along with some negative characteristics as well. As a current senior within the International Baccalaureate Program, I will mention that the teachers over my 4 years actually care about students' success and ambitions. Every class is a new environment with each teachers personality, but the environment can be categorized as a positive one nearly every time. I have multiple friends and colleagues that have positive annotations about their own teachers and professors due to their helpful mindsets and extensive knowledge within their own subjects. Furthermore, the sanitation and food aspects of the school are superb and satisfying to an extent; I have never had complaints with materialistic/cleanliness parts of the facilities. To add on, the opportunities within the school are plentiful and real; Ferguson currently has a sport/activity/club for every individual that has a passion in anything!

This school offers a variety of opportunities for all students. As a magnet school, it does a very good job at getting students involved in careers they might be interested in. Not only that, but it has exceptional school spirit! The administration is always trying to get students involved and help them in any way possible. I personally am in the IB program, and teachers are extremely willing to help you with anything you need, and provide tons of resources. There are clubs for every single interest, and there is a very lively after school environment that I enjoy. The principal Mr.Villalobos does a very good job in interacting with students during lunch periods, and attending school sponsored events to show off his Falcon Pride.
Being the biggest school in Dade County it can be assumed that students will feel lost or left out of activities and announcements. However, that is not the case. This school has amazing faculty, active students, and outstanding opportunities. I owe this school everything for allowing me to find myself and perhaps my reason to being admitted into the University of Florida. Some of the things I have or am participated in is Pre-med, FPSA, FBLA, National Honors society, Four year Varsity cheerleader and help an above 3.0 GPA all four years. From the janitors to our assistant principals always greet any guest or student with respect and a smile. I truly wish I can send out a team from Niche to visit John A. Ferguson because this school is the place to be! I am part of the senior board representative have even had the chance to say afternoon announcements where we inform students of any events. I want to say this school has built who I am for my next steps in my education and career.
