Very good school! There are plenty of opportunities at Ferguson; the only thing I've always said is that Ferguson is a school where you make yourself. Some teachers are AMAZING (AP Chemistry and IB Teachers) while others not so much. However, there are plenty of AP classes offered and many extracurriculars, so as long as you're willing to put in the work you will be able to succeed. I definitely recommend the IB program to many advanced students; it's your best opportunity to going to Ivy League schools or getting full rides to in-state schools like UF.

John A. Ferguson Senior High opened a variety of different doors for a young girl interested in pursuing her dream career in medicine. With all kinds of programs that encouraged the overall health of its students, the school administration effectively and continuously inspires humanitarian and artistic qualities within it's students. "Start with Hello" and "HIP" are included in this list of programs that promote school spirit, kindness, and acceptance throughout the hallways of the institution. Each department works equally as hard to educate and prepare their subjects for the future in the best manner possible. The cleanliness of the location is also exquisite, it is known as one of the neatest schools in Miami-Dade as it's walls and floors remain spotless during the entirety of the year.
Overall, my experience at Ferguson was pretty amazing. Due to the fact that it is one of the larger schools in the district (about 4,400 students) I was able to meet and converse with a variety of people that all had different ethnic backgrounds. As the school is located in Miami, it is a hotspot for other hispanic students to congregate. There are a variety of opportunities to progress as both an individual and as a student through the copious classes that are offered, along with the certification. The only department that is lacking I would say is the math, but all others have amazing teachers that are genuinely interested in relaying information to the best of their ability. I would recommend anyone to attend this school if they are looking for a diverse, but challenging school with multiple opportunities for success.
