My experience with Joaquin High School started my freshman year. I moved here from Alto, Texas and immediately loved it. It has brought me so many new friends. It has also brought me a great education. I love that it is a small school but I wish the small town politics would change. In a small town, deep in East Texas, football is everything. Joaquin High School has also given me better chances to do big things in the sports I play. Last softball season, before COVID-19 canceled everything, we had won fourteen games and only lost one. We also went to cross country regionals for the first time ever. Joaquin is my home and I love it.
Joaquin has a great environment for all high schoolers. All the teachers are very helpful and always there for any questions a student may have!
My experience at my high school was great. There are so many memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life. If I could I would change the food that was served to us. The school lunchers were not very appetizing. I would also help the students be more reared for college.
Students aren't mentally challenged here and it's very simple to pass through here. The classes aren't good and the students don't care. The favoritism shown throughout the school is abundant, depending on the weight your last name carries. Lastly, there is definitely racism here, it may not be outwardly shown as most would think but it is definitely there. Overall, my experience here has not been satisfying.
It's a pretty decent school. it could use some improving in the teaching section and definitely should focus less on sports and more on the academics.
