I went to Mann all 4 years and I am glad I went there. I am about to be a freshman in college and feel like I was prepared perfectly for being on my own. If you ever need help like mentally or help in any other form all you need to do is ask and they will help, I can say MOST of the staff at Mann are extremely nice and within a couple of weeks will become your friend there are a few exceptions, some adults just take themselves too seriously never forming nice relationships with their students. They could put more money towards science and math and not towards football when we NEVER win, so more field trips and experiences for the students can happen instead of being stuck in the class 180 days for 4 years straight. Something I do wish was different was the representation of diversity. Especially within the students/student council. Because there is barely representation people who are not white tend to not take part in school activities, feeling left out. Spirit Week is also the BEST!

As a student at JL Mann, I've had a great experience. The teachers are super helpful and care about what they are teaching. The administrators are very involved and care about students' well being. My guidance counselor has helped me find many opportunities for scholarships. There are clubs for almost any interest that a student might have, and it isn't hard to start a club of your own! The staff of JL Mann make every student feel like they matter and can succeed. There are many helpful programs that are set up to help students succeed. For example all of the teachers offer to meet with you before or after school if you are struggling with a certain subject. They help work around students' busy schedules to help them really understand the material. Overall JL Mann is a great high school.
Though our football team can't seem to keep up with most 5A schools, every other activity and sport and club is excellent! Dance Team has represented well at national competitions but needs far more financial support "though not a sanctioned sport in South Carolina". Our high school's Youth in Government for South Carolina program is top-of-the-line with highly motivated students. Even more so, our Student Council raised over $200,000 for a charity last year! Finest students and most involved Parent, Teacher, Student (PTSA) in South Carolina with the highest number of supporters joined. This organization raises funds to be used toward students directly every single day through sales at the Patriot Pantry breakfast and lunchtime concessions. Every item sold meets government requirements. Mann High School's S.P.E.C.I.A.L.S. (Special Needs) is our program that provides a highly successful, compassionate learning environment.
