I love the size of JImtown, its small enough to where all teachers can know almost everyone and their stories, but it's not so small that no one outside of the school can recognize the name. Jimtown is a moderately sized high school in which you can know quite literally everyone in your class, I could more likely than not, go through and list everyone in my graduating class. The academics program, although more narrow than larger schools, is still predictable and reliable. Our sports program and history of the sports program is known acrossed a few different schools and cities nearby, and it's always nice when your Jimtown sweatshirt is recognized by someone you never knew. Overall JImtown has given me an experience that ill definitely miss, as ready as i am to move on in the world, I'm going to miss the bonds and relationships I've made along the way.
Jimtown High School is a relatively good school. It's a small school where everyone knows everyone. We have a lot of teachers who care and are very excited to teach. EVen if it's a boring subject, learning is alway easier when you can tell the teacher is passionate and our school has a lot of that. What I would like to see the school change is creating more ways for students to get involved and advertise smaller clubs or sports. Another thing I would like to change about our school is to take sustainability more seriously. Jimtown recycles but quite a few students have reported seeing janitors throw the trash from the recycling bins into the normal trash at the end of the day. I've made some great friends and relationships in this school and am close with teachers.
Jimtown is not the school you would want to let your kids go to! All of the teachers have been there since the 70s so they are dated, nor do they teach! The schools doesnt fund anthing but football! Dont even try to get help about classes or college they dont want to help you! This school is all white kids which makes me (A mixed girl) left out. I have had more than one teacher treat me wrong because i am "The Black Girl" Iam a good student gets all As but still isnt treat like that!
