I went to booker t and the kids were really toxic there, there wasn't bullying but no one wants to make new friends and if you are nice you are just seen as week and/or nerdy. some teachers are mean but if you are in seventh grade try to get ms. Johnson as a teacher she is super nice. She was probably the only thing good about that school. Be prepared to have at least an hour and a half of homework each night. Also whatever you do DONT PICK SPANISH as your language you want to learn the Spanish teacher is crazy and doesn't even know Spanish. If you somehow get Spanish god help your soul. We were given an essay to write ON Halloween like who does that!!!
This is the best middle school ever. I would recommend this school, I had a great time there. If you are debating between going to Booker T. or not I would say you should go.
Right now I am about to enter the 8th grade here in Booker T. and I can gladly say that I’m excited to. I find that in this middle school the teachers and students are really friendly and there is almost 0 bullying. While many parents and children might be under the impression that there is “too much work”, I beg to differ. Eventhough Booker T. IS a very academically-focused school, I would be surprised if it had anywhere than other middle schools. I never find that I am given an unnecessarily large amount of homework, and at most I will be working on it for 1 to 1 1/2 hours per day (besides weekends).
From a parent’s perspective, the teachers are all committed and engaged and some are exceptional. I love that students are able to take 2 HS-level courses, Algebra I and Earth Science, while having a choice of 4 languages and superb electives in arts and technology.
Booker T. Washington is a good school in general. In 6th grade, it was average. One of my science teachers were really scary. 7th grade was the best, because of Ms. Orcher and Ms. Cea. Ms. Drouin was also a great teacher but her classes were boring to me. 8th grade (currently) was like under-meh. I am stuck with an extremely scary and harsh humanities teacher, meh math teacher, and nice science teacher.
High percentage are dedicated, well-educated, knowledgeable about middle schoolers and help the students as much as possible holding them to high expectations.
I've made many friends but I've had my share of bad teachers. I HATE the principal- very unhelpful, self-centered, and rude. Other than that, great school and kids should definitely come here!
I'm scared of getting trampled by the non-Delta kids because they're always running around and play fighting
