Overall I had a very good high school experience at JCHS, which I don’t think many people get to say. I made some wonderful friends, took great classes, had some great teachers, and got involved with some fantastic extracurriculars. At what other school can a student get involved with theatre, the basketball team, the school tv show while also taking a dual curriculum. JCHS is incredibly unique in how it allows students be involved with as many things as they would like. Teachers there are almost always very supportive and willing to support students in any way they can. My only gripe might be that there may have been a little too much handholding for students over the four years and that students may not be fully prepared for college life.

JCHS is an exceptional school with a very inclusive and loving atmosphere. It allows students to find their own place and explore their sense of self, both as a Jewish person and as a person in general. The small classroom sizes allow for students to really connect with their teachers as people, which allows for more mutual respect between students and teachers and therefore a more comfortable and open class environment. JCHS makes trying new things easy and you are able to explore any of the interests that you have, whether or not it is explicitly offered. It’s super easy to make your own club or to start a new program. I absolutely loved my experience at this school and it has helped to prepare me in all ways for the rest of my life.
I have been lucky enough to spend my entire highschool career at Jewish Community High School and it has been one of the best choices of my life. The school has opened doors for me I didn’t even know existed, allowing me to run my own programs within the school such as the annual charity fashion show. It has also allowed me to try new things as I branch out into new sports and JCHS’s amazing theatre program. The students welcomed me from the start, giving me the space to find my own connections to Judaism starting from the very first tefillah program to our recent junior year trip to Israel. Being a part of JCHS has helped me to develop my sense of self, my independence, and most of all it has helped my to bond with Judaism in ways I didn’t know were possible. JCHS is a wonderful school well worth exploring for yourself or your kids, allowing every student to be what feels most authentic to them.
