Even though it is a small school, there are many great people and amazing teachers that are always there for you. I have learned a lot and have always been accepted by the people who work there.
The faculty are amazing. They will help anyone that asks or needs extra help. There is nothing about this school that I would change.
Sumner High School is a very interesting school. I’ve been almost all my school life and it’s been a journey. The teachers help out and care for their students. Sometimes it’s tuff and maybe don’t teach the best but I still manage to push through and keep all A’s. I feel ready for college and can’t wait to start!
I have been at Sumner for four years now and it is a very good school to go to. The teachers are very hard working and the students are eager. Being a public school everyone knows everyone. Therefore it is easier to talk to people. I would love to see more positivity spread throughout the school. Less bullying and more love. I would love to see everyone come together to make school enjoyable. I wish our pep rally's could be more fun and eventful and our school had more pride. I feel like if we did more fun things then more people would be excited for the school year.
I love how it is a small school where you know all your teachers personally and the teachers know you!
I liked the school spirit for the few school pep rallies we had and I liked that the classes were small and resources were available for school projects and schoolwork; however the lack of cultural events and low school moral made my school experience limited and felt that there was a lot that I had missed out on in my four years here.
My experience at this school was poor. The academics are terrible and the teachers are poor. There are only 1-2 teachers from 9-12 that actually teach and the rest just show up.
Some the teachers doesn't know how to teach. We hardly ever get breaks in the classroom. Some of the teachers miss a lot of days which takes a toll on the students. The principal has favoritism towards some of the students too.
Sumner is a place of learning and improvement upon young scholars. It also is known for sports such as football.
I have enjoyed my high school years at Jewel M. Sumner High school. Ive had some amazing teachers and made great friends.
Jewel M. Sumner High School is like any othe public high schooland yhats why I love it. Sumner has great teachers who try to help their students figure out the material being taught. It is a school filled with people who have known each other forever, being that it is in a small town. Rarely will you see bullying. It is very close nich and has many clubs and sports. The student council is very progressive when it comes to getting what they want. One thing I would change is that Sumner, being that it is in a smaller town is somewhat outdated and needs to be sprouced up.
This school has taught me everything that I know. The teachers here are hands on and execellent at their jobs. Students that attend Sumner High School are, for the most part, respectful to teachers and one another.
Some of the teachers are really good to work with. Then some teachers can barely teach or won't let you ask a question. Most if the students are trying to learn as best as they can with the little resources we have. But overall its a good school.
The school is not very clean but could be worse. The academics are not as great as they should be. The students are cruel to not only their peers but also their teachers.
There is always the risk of a fight breaking out. Anyone can just walk into the school if they please. It's not very secure.
The are many irrational and pointless policies, but that is not at the fault of the school. The problems stem from a disconnect between the students/teachers and the school board.
Overall, it's not so terrible. The good evens out the bad.
