Jesuit High School is the premiere college preparatory school in the Tampa Bay Area and beyond. Jesuit’s academics truly challenge every student. The quality of the teachers are far beyond any high school. Four of my teachers this year have PhDs, and almost all of my teachers have taught at a university. With these great teachers, and the extremely rigorous curriculum required for every Jesuit course, every student receives an education that simply cannot he matched by any other high school in the area. In addition to Jesuit’s academic excellence, Jesuit also truly succeeds in its mission to instill every student with their motto “Men for Others.” This can be seen in the impact their alumni have made, and the leadership roles they merited. Jesuit High School has a reputation for forming some of the influential people in the Tampa Bay Area.

Jesuit can change you. While the curriculum and academics certainly are rigorous and challenging at times, the school’s efforts at both religious and personal formation are amazing. You do not need to be Catholic to have appreciation for what the school does to promote growth in its students. The recent Master Plan to renovate and rebuild the school, though seemingly excessive at times, is focused entirely on ensuring that current and future students will be able to develop even further into Men for Others.

Diversity is a slight issue - but since it’s a tuition-based school, of course the demographic skews mostly white. But at the same time, you will meet a wide variety of peers with a similarly wide variety of opinions and views.

Teachers are excellent for the most part. While many of my peers, including myself, have questioned the continued presence of some teachers, there is no doubt that nearly all of them more than adequately prepare us for college.
Fabulous school. They live the Men for Others school motto. The school has so many mission trips near and far, and the students embrace these opportunities to serve those less fortunate. The academics are top of the line, with a great AP program with lots of course offerings, hundreds of students taking AP classes and great test scores. The Art department has been a huge surprise. Mr. Ball is amazing and they are doing amazing things with all of the art students, especially the AP students. The Celebration of the Arts event at the end of each year is my favorite school event. Just a great school, first class.
