Jesse Bethel High School is not a terrible school, however it is not the best school out there. After four years of attending this public high school, I have a pretty good understanding of where it strives and where it doesn't. I've had regrets of attending this school, but I've gained an ultimate respect to want to see it change and better itself. Keep in mind, there are only a few things I am able to list for both.

Let's start off with the pros:
- Is incredibly diverse and would make a POC student feel like they belong
- Most of the teachers are amazingly easy to trust and gain emotional support and advice from
- Newly built gate that can help with trespassing issues

Now the cons:
- The administration/site safety does not care about students; personally experienced attitudes from both parties
- No effort put into performing arts programs (like theatre, dancing, etc.) except from students who run clubs
- Badly misbehaved students; vandalized with sarcastic graffiti the other day

Not the best looking bathroom. One of the worse cases I've seen. They have quite a lot of nice programs to choose from. Easy access to AP classes. No honors classes at all which is very disappointing. The view by the field is really nice. The track field is just dirt. The food at the cafeteria is good but could be better.

NJROTC program is really a gem to find in Bethel. It is looked down on most students but I think it is a very nice opportunity for students to earn PE credits, do SAT/ACT prep and earn more scholarships.

One specific counselor is not the best at handling his or her job.
To me my experience at Jesse Bethel was an emotional rollercoaster. Why I say this is in freshman year I was a new student and being the new kid I was introduced to a new environment as well as new people. They were all welcoming in the beginning until they really get to know you. Luckily I found a group of friends that stayed solid with me and we continued from there. My academics at this school were great in the beginning but as time passed it slowly started going down due to the fact that I was trying to accomplish a lot of things at once such as a job, sports, attending multiple clubs, joining a college class, and keeping up with school. In the end I managed to balance everything out. Going to this school really changed me as a person and it molded me into the person I am today. Sure there are ups and downs but I was able to get through it.
