Jericho Senior High School Reviews
Rating 4.09 out of 5 182 reviews
I really like the supportiveness at Jericho High School. The wide variety of classes caters to students interested in pursuing many paths in the future, from music to STEM to literature. I feel comfortable exploring opportunities with the support of my teachers, who go the extra mile to ensure that I'm always doing my best. The competitive environment is also very different from most schools, so it is not just the teachers encouraging you to do your best, its peers and classmates. Combined, all of this makes a healthy environment that ensures success!
Jericho Senior High School is one of the premier public schools you can attend. With an abundance of resources at the students' disposal and a committed faculty, Jericho truly does prepare their students by giving them the best education possible. However, with this comes an immense amount of hyper-competitiveness from students and parents alike. This competitiveness has taken away from things like school spirit or just generally things that you would expect any school district to have. All though this may be true in some cases at Jericho, it is one of the best schools to attend and will surely prepare you for college.
After moving to the Jericho district from another country, I've been welcomed by the student body and faculties. A few of the newly arrived foreign students who came along with me had received sufficient English support, including extra time on tests etc. One of the first things I noticed about the school is the safe environment, where no fights or big incidents have ever happened over the school years. Nonetheless, I was surprised by the academic integrity here and how students are serious about receiving quality education and planning their future in colleges. Competiveness does appear generally, which can be a major stress factor for some students. The school district also has a great amount of resources that are provided to students, including field trips, various clubs, and even foreign country trips. However, students need to be prepared for outside challenges as they might have been sheltered in this "Jericho bubble". Overall Jericho is a great district for students to grow in.
