My experience at Jefferson High was fairly good, I easily adapted to the set up of the classes, and felt like all my teachers put time into there work so its fun for us and we can understand. Made many friends when i went to school there. They have so many clubs, its amazing so really important that you can try out a club. They have little signs of encouragement on walls, and quotes!
Jefferson High School was enjoyable in the portions that we the students made fun. Education is better if you take PSEO courses at Normandale, but the school does have a fair amount of well taught AP and honors courses.
I had a pretty good experience at Jefferson. I liked the teachers that I had, especially the math teachers. The had a good math department with teachers that were interesting in what they taught. The science department had nice teachers but I had difficulty learning in the 4 years I had science classes. But overall my experience with teachers were well. The school building was nice, with good furniture and equipment. Great College & Career program. Clubs and sports were average. In terms of diversity, it was not the best. I am southern Asian, who took AP and honor classes which consisted with mostly white students, maybe 1-2 people of color, sometimes I am the only one. I did have difficulty fitting in with my peers as I am an immigrant as well, so our experiences were different. Despite going to a predominantly white school, most of my friends were people of color, but I never faced any racism and my white peers were friendly, I just did not have much in common.
I liked some of my teachers and the way they are flexible about things. Some things I would change is the way they approach running the school. Some times they are very strict about things like the dress code, but do not punish students for severe offenses.
I have enjoyed my time at Jefferson High School, but I do feel that some improvements need to be made. I feel like we spend the budget on some of the wrong things. For example, the classrooms are incredibly dull and difficult environments to learn in, but we haven't updated them. Instead, we updated the cafeteria and hallways. It's fine, I just think that a different budget would bring the school to the next level.
I am a sophomore and so far it is a really nice school, there are Ap classes available and honors classes as well. I think they do a good job at making sure we not only succeed in high school but are prepared for our next steps whether it be college or post secondary opportunities. There are a lot of extra clubs and after school activities to be engaged in as well, I do debate and speech.
I hate Jefferson Senior High School. Im sure it didn't allow me to do my best. Minnetonka is far better according to a close friend who transferred there, even as he lived in Bloomington. I hate this school because the social struggles I had. Particularly, there are students who are egotistical, and social circles around them. Also, the staff, teachers, play into it. While these students can do good, I feel like I was distracted, unhappy
Good teachers, helpful admin, great college resources, good selection of ap classes, plenty of activities for students of all interests, sports are popular but not all successful. I think the school has all that a student could ask for except the fact that the building itself is old and tired and needs more that the lipstick they are trying to put on that pig.
It was a great experience. I made a lot of new friends and found a sport I love. There were many clubs in order for everyone to feel like they belong. I loved many of my teachers I had and joked with them like they were also my friends. As a freshman, I was nervous to start high school but we have a club called Pathfinders where they make freshman feel comfortable and not scared. They really helped me feel like I was part of something. My senior year, I became a Pathfinder in hope to make the incoming freshman feel welcomed.
I really enjoyed that they made some minor renovations to the building to make the school a bit more modern and clean looking. I thought that the majority of the teachers were lack luster; it was obvious that not a lot of them wanted to be there and simply didn't care about the success of their students.
I participated in sports at Jefferson and had a great experience with the soccer and basketball programs. I had countless great teachers as well!

Overall, I had a great time at Jefferson but I really don't miss it. The teachers/administration/faculty are awesome, peers were awesome, but the school itself was just ugly. Due to it looking so bad always made me embarrassed to say I went to Jefferson. Despite that, I loved my time at Jefferson and am still in touch with some of the teachers!
Jefferson was a great school for me to go to. It got me ready for college and got me ready for life. I learned a lot at Jefferson Senior High School
The staff are all very helpful, and provide many resources in order to help you learn there. You are always free to come in early with any questions ;) We have a great college and career center too, where you can even check out ACT study books for free and asking for counseling help on college choices. If you like sports, there is a large gym that fits six courts with an indoor track, and a smaller one as well for pep rallies. Coaches are very competitive and helpful. Lastly, we have many clubs that are popular-like anime, book club, Spanish club-you name it.
Good teachers and students. Access to PSEO programs at local community college and the University of Minnesota, and the DA program were extremely helpful as well.
The teachers have the right idea about what they want to do. However, the administration is lost on how to treat its students and staff.
