Jefferson High School Reviews
Rating 4.06 out of 5 70 reviews
A small town, largely white, right-leaning school with a rather large party scene. The academics are really good for what they are, but hampered by the size of the school. The size also hurts extracurricular opportunities, notable absences including speech and debate and wrestling.
The Jefferson HIgh school response and readiness during the COVID-19 crisis says it all about Jefferson R-7. They have enabled 87% of the students to continue learning online through school issued Chromebooks, and the remainder of the students will have textbooks and assignments delivered to them. All students will be able to complete the school year.
Jefferson High School's teachers care about your grades and are willing to help you improve them if you are struggling. Jefferson High School also encourages students to score high on the ACT by providing numerous resources and even a free ACT each spring to Juniors. Bullying is not tolerated at all by any of the faculty members. The art classes are amazing, but the paint provided by the school is of poor quality. The art department needs more funding to provide better supplies to its students. The school's culture is definitely that of a small school and your teachers know your name.
This is a rather good school. As far as smalltown country schools go, this is one of the best you're going to get. I personally enjoy the community and the people I go to school with, and while the academics may be slightly lacking for me, that's a common problem for small schools with a limited number of honors kids. The staff and administration are some of the nicest people you will ever meet, the food is amazing, our athletics are insane and it's one of the safest schools you'll find. Truly a good place.
Everyone there was nice and made you feel at home. If I was having a problem or felt upset, someone was always there for me.
This is the tenth year that the high school has been open. Our class sizes are small but growing. Each student has their own chromebook they use for their schoolwork. Our athletics are very good. We are valued for our academics.
Jefferson High School is a fantastic High School. It is new and the building is clean and sharp. The staff genuinely cares for the students. Many opportunities are available for every student.
I love the school and the environment that the students and teachers bring. Teachers are excited to teach and students WANT to learn. In the school, students are being treated like adults and we learn to make our own decisions and we are all treated evenly. Students are encouraged to ask questions and are encouraged to be their own person.
Jefferson highschool is a pretty good school. Although, I dont think it is better than most schools. We have good faculty members and we may have a newer building but we dont have very many sports and I think that the boys sports are more funded than the girls.
It is a fun school
Our equipment is all very new
Most teachers help you as much as they can
Some clubs are supported by the staff more than others.
It's too small and too many of the students parents are either teachers, on the school board or are a school staff member. These students are treated extra special and get away with everything while all the other students are left out. Student Council and other major clubs that could be helpful in getting college scholarships are just a popularity contest instead of who would do the best job. There is just no way for a great student to stand a fair chance for anything unless your parent is somehow employed with the school district.
You can always get help if you need it
Staff tries its best to look out for the students and help them succeed.
