Being at Jefferson High School for a total of 4 years, I’ve been able to experience both the good and the ugly. For starters, the environment is decent — there were constant brawls, multiple faulty fire alarms going off, and there were lots of visible cliques, yet that is quite unavoidable. On the other hand, the teachers at this school are very supportive and are always there to give you the help that you need! The teachers do not want to see anyone fail, and it’s clear! One thing I would like to see change is the amount of AP classes that they offer. Sadly, they do not offered that many compared to others schools; however, they are beginning to grow! The sports teams are very lively, and they’ve had quite luck and success for the years that I’ve been there!

School is fairly diverse and accepting compared to other schools! Although it has been a fairly rocky 4 years, the school does a decent job at preparing the students. The teachers are well qualified and provide a relatively safe environment. Academics and sports here are pretty decent and has made some achievements in the past few years. The lunch however... let’s say it could be worse.
Jefferson High School is an amazing place to go to school. It has an old reputation for being "ghetto" or of a lower academic quality compared to other schools in the area, but that is certainly not the case anymore. Recently, state test scores have risen significantly and many graduates have been admitted into prestigious universities and colleges including each school in the UC system. The student population is completely diverse, each coming from different ethnic backgrounds, religions, and interests. Their sport teams have recently won several championships and they also have amazing band, robotics, dance, and ASB programs. There are many clubs and teams on campus for whatever students may be interested in, and the faculty is very supportive and friendly as well. Students typically have a wonderful experience at Jefferson and grow into independent, well-rounded, and kind young men and women.
