This is tough. Though I graduated recently (2 yrs ago), the school is almost entirely different from when I first enrolled. However, I won't hold circumstance against JCCS. It certainly prepared me for higher education. The teachers I had were beyond REMARKABLE! Opportunities beyond the classroom were BLESSINGS; I refined my artistic talent, traveled with performing arts, had a load of fun playing baseball, travelled to Gettysburg, launched catapults, etc. On the other hand, there were a lot of problems. The social environment wasn't great for me: cliques, ostracization, etc. It isn't a stretch to say a few kids ran the school. If you aren't the "elect," forget about it. Conflict resolution either broke teachers down or made them blind Defenders. Resultantly, half my class left. It also has a bunch of stupid and arbitrary rules. Math and science are overemphasized. A better liberal arts underpinning is necessary. All things equal, great people! Great goal! More understanding & grace!
Jefferson County Christian School is a great Christian school. The student body is a family and the classes are small but have enough diversity. Some of the school’s policies are very strict and some should be changed. The biggest issue is our lack of sports facilities. We need a gymnasium, and we need it bad.
Beautiful school! Truly bringing the Word of God to life! The teachers are dedicated to each and every student. I couldn't ask for a better school experience.
