Jeffers Hill Elementary School Reviews
Rating 4.33 out of 5 3 reviews
Jeffers Hill was a pleasant surprise. We had debated about sending our children there or to private school, as many of our neighbors had done. We decided to try JHES, and I’m so glad that we did.
The teachers and administrators are amazing and supportive. They know each child well. The instruction has been fantastic and they do offer enrichment activities through the G&T program.
It’s a smaller school relative to the other HCPSS elementary schools, but the PTA is very engaged and there’s a true sense of community. My children have thrived in the diverse environment that JHES provides.
I was a skeptic, but now as the parent of a 5th grader, I love JHES and am thankful that we didn’t move or enroll in private school.

I have been truly impressed by the quality of the teachers at Jeffers Hill. I have had 2 children in JHES for the past 5 yrs and we have been pleased with every single teacher they have had. I sat in on classes again this year and observed the teachers making great use of class time, engaging the students, and providing opportunities for both independent work and guided instruction. The principals at JHES create a very positive atomosphere for both teachers and students. And finally, the involvement and contribution of parents through the PTA is top notch. Even though it's a smaller Elementary school, JHES offers outstanding enrichment activities, both during the school day and in after school programing. The diversity of the student body has also been an unexpected plus. Truly a gem of a school.
I find myself disappointed in the instruction I have seen in the classroom. Too much teacher talk. Too little student engagement.
