My experience at Jean Ribault Senior High School has been impeccable. At Ribault, I was afforded the opportunity to indulge in the early college program which in the spring of 2020, I will graduate with both my high school diploma as well as my Associates of Arts Degree, completing my first two years of college (with 60 credit hours). I am also a senior on the Varsity Cheerleading squad, an active member on the student council and national honors society, president of the beta club and I am an active member in several small community- service based organizations around my school. I am a very proud student attending a school of such rich history and I take pride on being able to be apart of the legacy this school has started. Things I would like to see changed throughout my school is the way it is viewed. Ribault upholds an image of being "predominantly black" or the neighborhood it is built in so many times my school is judged before one can see the good in it.

the school itself is a good monument in it's history but i don't recommend going there. Allow me to tell you. They almost always have fresh teachers right out of college and they tend to have difficult time teaching the class. The class environment is almost never focused and off track. And it's quite rare if you find one or a few more that is focused through out. When you walk the halls of this school, you'll find most of the students are African American. Which is really good. The only problem, is that they are really not "mature minded". Not everyone is like that. But most of the students are just not determined to learn new things everyday. If anything, you'll find this school quite depressing and unenthusiastic. The facilities are traumatizing and no work is being done for them. Dress code is abused. Guys sag their pants and the girls wear extremely tight clothing. the principle will tell you the disappointments of the school too. So please think twice before arriving campus.
Some of the teacher don't really teach. However, the over all experience really depends on what kind of crowd and the people hang around. My experience with school was amazing i wouldn't trade it for anything. if i could relive those moments again i truly would. What made it better is that i have made friends that usually wouldn't last a lifetime, but they are still here and we continue to uplift each other no matter what. High school is what you make it so hopefully you are making the right decisions.
