J.E. Young Academic Center Reviews

I did independent studies at J. E. Young my senior year. The classroom environment at my old school wasn't working for me and I was failing classes, not understanding lectures, and fell behind on credits. When I went to J. E. Young I started to do better academically and my self confidence was growing. They have a comfortable small school with friendly teachers. The tutoring helped me understand more of the work and the take-home packets helped get my credits up. They also had a program called Advanced To College (ATC) that I took the chance to do. In the program we took a few classes at Fresno City College to get college credits while in high school. I am a proud graduate of J. E. Young Academic Center.
This school has teachers and staff that help you and care about you.
it was ok the school seemed like it had a lower budget
my teacher was wonderful but other teachers just didnt seem to care
doesnt really give an insight and does not help with further education
i feel like i couldnt reach my full potential there
not really a dressed code you could go in there with pajamas
its ok but not really healthy. if your on a diet its not the place to be
its been pretty ok not really much has happened yet
they offer general classes as well as programs that are ok
The diversity is definitely there. Everyone ends up at this school because of there past mistakes and are in the path of graduating late. We all could relate to one another and discuss or failing points in regular high school.
Before attending this high school I would always skip class. After attending this high school and going into college I have noticed my ambition is higher as well as my grades. I do wish however they had guidance counselors to help the transition into college.
If I could do it all over I would. This school allows you to work and study at your own pace. I would have graduated earlier and at the top of my class. It really helps for those students with the ability to blow through classes instead of being bored and having their grades fall.
