There are many teachers here who forever impacted my life. The ROTC teachers are phenomenal and our teams regularly place top 3 in local and perform well in states and nationals. My science teacher taught me sign language in our free time, my English teacher motivated me to work more on my novel, and my graphic design teacher is a major influence in my success. Staff is on it with taking the threats seriously (14 in the county just in 2019) and friends are easy to make in every kind of culture (artist, musicians, LGBT, sport, etc.) Staff is LGBT friendly, subs are totally epic, and you have blacks, Arabs, Hispanics, white, etc. Many religious backgrounds, and relatively middle class, mixed with kids from "the hood" and "privileged" background. I love it!! I think top high school in the county

The faculty at this school is absolutely top notch!! The teachers, counselors and admin really take the time to get to know every student, not just the star athletes. They also try to do so many fun things for the students. From dances, movie nights, and of course, Friday Night Lights Football games! Our cheering section is called the STANG GANG and we all come together on Friday nights to cheer on our amazing football team! I really love that all of the teachers and faculty come out as well because it gives us a chance to see them outside of the classroom setting and connect with them on a more "fun" level! Go Mustangs!
I am a rising Junior at J.W. Mitchell High School. I am not only a strong academic student but I also participate in a varsity sport as well as multiple clubs. I would say that this school is probably just like many others. I have met some wonderful people, teachers and mentors while here but I have also met some not so great ones. The school has some flaws, for example the bathrooms here are a mess and the school has a vaping problem, but it also has some positive qualities like the wide range of classes available including Dual Enrollment and Advanced Placement. I will say that if you enjoy band J.W. Mitchell has a very large and inclusive one; when you go here its hard not to know someone who is in band. Overall I have enjoyed my time here and would recommend this school to others.
