Last year, I started freshman year at James Madison High School, and the experience so far has been absolutely unbelievable! The school offers a variety of clubs to bring the student community together, and I have recently joined Key Club and Junior Civitan in order to give back to my community. Moreover, my experience with club members and others in the student body has been remarkable! The student community that Madison has built is diverse, success driven, and unified. The school also includes a pleather of sports teams, where students can focus on team building, health, and competitive drive. I am currently a member of the Tennis Team, and though my time on the team so far has been cut short due to the pandemic, I have created several new friends and improved my athletic ability. Lastly, I have not had a single bad experience in my learning, and all of my teachers have inspired me to strive for success and push myself in order to become an even better learner.
James Madison High School is a welcoming place. The sense of community that is present is one like no other. The school amin and teachers go out of their way to make sure all of the students feel safe, and that they belong here. Along with events like our dances and sports games, Madison offers other opportunities to get involved, like the clubs we offer. One way that the students can help each other out is through the peer tutoring program, which also grants service hours to those that help out. Another great program that the school offers in mentoring. Mentoring is t a program that all freshman take part in, in which upperclassmen volunteer (no service hours) to help the incoming class acclimate to the school. Mentors serve as role model for freshman students; develop students’ confidence and support their growth in academic, personal, and social skills to increase their chance of success during their high school years. Madison is a welcoming school, deserving of praise.
As a student that has attended this school for my whole high school years, this school has undergone changes to improve the student life here. They have recently renovated the school's front, appliances, furniture, classrooms, and many others. These were some much needed changes to create a more modern feel to the school. James Madison High School is an everchanging school that adapts to the needs of both the students and faculty with the many ways to become involved in the school itself. Compared to other high schools in the region, the school is very competitive in its academics, clubs, and sports, achieving high rankings in the many teams that this school has to offer.
