My experience at James Madison High School has and probably will be one of the greatest experiences of my life. I came in as a freshman and little did I know I would have found the person that I want to spend the rest of my life with. This school has given me so many memories that I could not have found at any other high school. the teachers I have encountered are not only unique, but they care about intelligence rather than knowledge. Being on their girl's varsity volleyball team has sent me places I have never been to and met people who have had an impact in my life. Our classes on Friday are even cut shorter since last year! Who does not want shorter high school classes? Aside from all these wonderful things, there are a few changes that I wish to be changed. Most schools have similar problems: I wish to see money being spent on more air conditioning and hygiene in the school. Even though every single person's needs cannot be met, this school is my second home.

James Madison High School is a great community school. The population is growing, with great success. The plus for having such a big school is that there are more opportunities to do different activities. There are so many events to attend, sports to join, clubs to run and more! Although it is a large school, the students are always accounted for.
I enjoyed being involved in some of the choices of my classes. Every semester I would meet with the guidance counselor to meet and discuss elective choices. This gave me the opportunity to explore new interests like the ceramic class I looked forward to attend, but I did struggle with other classes like math and science. It was great that tutoring was offered, but it needs to be changed. The rooms are over crowded and the individual assistance is very minimal, if any. This is definitely what I would like to see changed. It would be more helpful to have smaller groups of ten or less with a teacher and students working with the students through step by step instruction. I feel that a more personalized approach would have made a difference to my level of success in these subject areas.
