Transferring your senior year is probably one of the toughest things you can do. I made my decision last minute meaning I ended up starting school after everyone else, I won’t say that the transition was stress free but there are multiple people around to help guide and navigate your way through your last year of high school. I sincerely appreciate all of my mentors and everything they have helped me with, most of my mentors are still around today even though it’s been a year since I’ve graduated!

When I first came to James Madison Academic Campus, I was nervous. I came from a predominantly white high school in Minneapolis, Minnesota and I noticed the difference immediately. The amount of African American students and teachers stood out to me. I love how welcoming the students and faculty were to me. They made me feel like I belonged there. The only thing I dislike about JMAC is how outdated some of the rules are. At my old school Upper class men had the opportunity to leave campus for lunch, but at JMAC we had to stay and eat there. That lack of trust from administration was the only thing I did not like about my old high school.
It has great teachers and a good handful of wonderful staff member, that nothing but the best in mind for the students that wanted to learn...The school itself served its purpose through the chaos of other distractions. Plenty of programs those who fall behind and those who raised above and beyond. This was my school, wouldn't have any other way.
