While there were many teachers there that encouraged me to learn on a daily basis and diverse classes, I feel that my experience could've been better. There's a severe lack of clubs and activities for students to participate in, and as a result students aren't able to take up new hobbies and interests. The school also lacks the proper funding to allow for bigger classrooms, and they tend to cut funding in the art department to the point where there isn't even a music/band teacher anymore. I enjoyed the people I was around more than the school itself.
Well my time at James Kenan seemed very quick, I feels although I went through all four years of high school I surely feels like I've had just began high school. It had its many ups and downs, one of those ups of me making the football team for my final two years. Being a part of that brotherhood taught me many things about life in general and I for one now believe that I am prepared to go out into the real world and tackle it head on. My James Kenan experience shall forever have a special place in my heart and my life.
My experience was alright. Facilities were dated, cafeteria food wasn't the best (but it was edible). The teachers there didn't really care, except for a small number. The ones who did care, however, were great friends and mentors that I will keep in touch with in the future. I did meet my boyfriend here!
