James F. Byrnes High School prepared me for college in ways no other high school could. Even during the pandemic, the teachers and staff at Byrnes always made sure we were doing everything we could to stay on track for graduation. I made a lot of great memories at Byrnes. Going to football games, meeting new friends, and learning lots of great information from my teachers made my high school experience amazing. James F. Byrnes High school has the BEST principle and assistant principles! The teachers and staff always make the students their number one priority. Not to mention the school itself is one of the cleanest schools I have ever been to.
I love this school. I enjoy going here, and all the teachers are supportive of my efforts. I have found friends in many of my teachers and peers, of which have made transitioning from a high school in Washington State to one in South Carolina easier. The sports are fun to watch as well. I remember in my Sophomore year that I went to a homecoming game. It was loads of fun, especially since I got to enjoy that experience with newfound friends. I also enjoy the artistic opportunities of the school. The theater program is amazing. I made so many new friends and competed in a competition at SCTA (South Carolina Theatre Association) in 2019 with them, of which we managed to win state. That happened to be one of the greatest accomplishments that I achieved, as well as it seemed so for my friends. I love this school so much and could not imagine a better, supportive, and friendly school than James F. Byrnes High School.
Byrnes HighSchool has helped shaped me into the intelligent young woman I am today. As I finish off my last year in the district as a senior, looking back is bittersweet. All of my teachers over the years have been so encouraging and sweet. The d5 community is a great community to be apart of and it is a community I am proud to be apart of. When you come to Byrnes you’re welcomed by such sweet staff and students. The teachers here are so good at understanding and motivating their students. Many times, students are quick to tell you how they look at most of their teachers as family. The teachers here make sure to make their main goal us students being successful after HighSchool. From the Janitors to the Principal, the love and support for us is always there.
