Coming to James Campbell High School as an upcoming sophomore was terrifying. I have spent ten years at a private school, and I was unsure about this transition due to it being public and much bigger than the schools I have attended. As I entered all my classes, it was very intimidating. I didn't know anyone, but as weeks passed by, I was able to make new friends, and learn so much from the amazing faculty and staff. James Campbell High School is a huge campus, and that was surely something I was afraid about; me not being able to locate my classes or getting to them in time. James Campbell High School turned out to be a home to me. The teachers were very understanding and welcoming, and I can't wait to spend the rest of my high school career there. The only thing I would change about the school is the passing period. Due to the campus being so large, I still am frightened that I won't get to class on time, so an extension of at least five minutes would be great. I love this school!

Honestly, not the worst high school, but it's very dirty and doesn't have the best facilities. There aren't a wide variety of classes offered and there are many teachers that aren't qualified to teach the classes that they're teaching. Additionally, the office services are terrible and take forever, making things like starting a club or joining the early college program almost impossible sometimes. On the other hand, everyone is pretty nice and some of the teachers are really good at what they do!
Despite a bad reputation in the past, James Campbell High School in genuinely a pretty great school. The diversity at JCHS allows everyone to find their place among their classmates. There's an abundance of clubs to join and students can even make their own clubs! We're offered Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, and Early College class in additional to the regular curriculum.
