James Burd Elementary School Reviews

My son is in the 1st grade at James Bird. His 1st week of Kindergarten he was being bullied and didn't want to go in. I spoke with the principle Mr. Shapiro and he took care of everything. They have a strict no bullying policy in the school, and they absolutely do their best to make sure that every child feels safe coming in there every day. As far as academics goes, my 6 year old son is doing fantastic. I can really tell the difference between how much he has learned between Kindergarten and 1st grade. He was still struggling to read a little bit at the end of Kindergarten, but now in the middle of 1st grade he is reading just about anything you put in front of him. The size of the words do not matter to him, he can sound them out with little to no difficulty. I don't ever remember being able to read that well at that age!
