James B. Conant High School Reviews
Rating 4.07 out of 5 551 reviews
Conant is an amazing school. I was not in any sports or clubs but they have so many activities and if they don’t have something you’re interested in they will help you start a club! There were a few old school teachers left when I was there (2019) but they probably retired now. I will say those teachers were kind of mean and cranky but for the most part I loved all of my teachers! I liks how many AP classes this district offers. They will definitely help you get ready for college! I’m a Hispanic student and they did not make me feel like I was any less. My counselor was always on top of it when I had college questions or concerns. They do very well with teaching about diversity and equality but it’s kind of hard for certain students to adapt to that or understand it because Conant is not diverse. That’s not entirely the schools fault either, it’s just because of the area we live in and the way these kids are raised at home.
I really liked the environment of Conant. I always felt very included and involved. However the general culture of Conant could be toxic. Sometimes the faculty and administration disregarded student needs in order to make the school look better. I wish this would change. Some teachers would also, very obviously, show favoritism which would get annoying. Overall Conant offered a very good academic environment. Conant also always had something for everyone, whether it was a club or a sport, Conant had it or had the capacity to create it.
Conant High School is an amazing school! They work hard to ensure that every student gets the education that they need and that everyone is supported. They also have fantastic extracurricular opportunities! Forms sports to music, you can find a club for any interest that you may have. Currently, with the corona virus, Conant is doing an excellent job making sure that every student is taken care of, and is making it a priority to try and hold a graduation ceremony for the seniors this summer.
